Adding the first job
The job number is a unique reference number or name that allows the user to quickly identify each job e.g. (Sub-Lot, Street Number, Customer Last Name)
The contract sign date is simply for reference. The estimated completion date is what Schedule One compares to in order to forecast the Schedule One completion date. Schedule One's default warning period is 15 days so if a job is within 15 days of the estimated completion date, Schedule One will show a yellow warning in the Warnings tab located below. If the job scheduled completion date falls after this time frame, Schedule One will give a warning in red in the Warnings tab below. As long as the job is still on schedule, Schedule One will show green in the warning tab below.
Select the "Save and enter tasks manually" button
The first task you enter will not be dependant upon any other task so select the independent task button and then select the start of that task.
The second task will be dependant upon the first task and so on. Several tasks can be dependant upon a single task however we recommend that you maintain each respective task dependant upon a task or the previous task when at all possible. Tasks from one job can be dependant upon other jobs if necessary but keep in mind this may complicate the schedule due to the additional variables. This is not recommended on a template. You can always modify a new job when created from a template
If you need to add a sub-contractor, click in the sub-contractor field, select "Add New". The Contact Master dialog box opens. Enter the contact information and click "Save" and the new contact will automatically be entered into the sub-contractor field.
Adding a new job and saving from a previous job.
Click on Add a new Job. Enter data into all fields, select the color to be used from the job options tab and then click on the "Save job and enter tasks from a previous job. After the dialog box opens, select the start date, then the job you would like to copy and click on "ok". Begin adding task by entering data into each field in the task information tab below in the detail window.
If you would like to create a template to copy from over and over we recommend entering the name you would like to reference the template by into the job number field when adding this job. Now you may enter as many new jobs as needed by simply selecting the template when creating a new job from a previous job. In order to make sure you don't accidentally change the template mark it as suspended or inactive only after you have created the first job from the template. You can always go back and modify the template itself later if needed or simply edit the new job after saving it from the template.
